Portrait of Erskine Wood

During the night of Shine a Light, a one night event at the Portland Art Museum, I presented Portrait of Erskine Wood.

Portrait of Erskine Wood was a dress-up and facepainting event for young gallery attendees. Children were invited to have their faces painted, but could only be painted like Erskine Wood, a sullen looking young man wearing a turtleneck sweater.

Once in costume, the children were taken on an exclusive Erskine-only tour, about the life of Erskine Wood, illustrated through examples in the Northwest Art Collection and the Native American Art Collection at the Portland Art Museum.

Documentation of the piece was later presented at a show called The Dialogical in Salem.
